Today we are talking with Emilie Saunders, who facilitates a Boundaries group for women at Hope. Emilie, thanks for coming to our virtual coach! Can you tell us a little more about Boundaries?
Not only does God desire a relationship with us, but He also desires us to be in relationship with each other. It's through His wise plan that we can experience life and relationships at their fullest. Boundaries is a small group study designed to discuss biblical principles for healthy relationships and sound living.
Why did you get involved with leading Boundaries?
I came across the Boundaries series at a time in my life when I was searching for a deeper understanding of my life experiences and my relationships. The Boundaries book offered practical insights regarding God's plan for healthy relationships. I learned what it means to love out of freedom instead of obligation or guilt. I felt certain that there were lots of other folks, just like me, who could benefit from this study. This is the 3rd time that Marmi and I have lead the study and I look forward to what I will learn this time. We are all on a journey!
That sounds great. I've led this class before and think it is a great relationship class for any women. What do you hope for women to experience through the class?
I hope that the class will offer each woman the opportunity to reflect on their life and relationships. And that they will discover that God's wise and loving plans bring freedom.
Sounds great. How can I find out more?
The class will meet for 10 weeks, beginning Jan. 14 from 10AM - 11:30AM. The class will run concurrently with Thrive, so childcare is available! If you are interested in the group, contact me, Emilie at 363-0629 or Marmi Houff at 747-4004. We'll be happy to answer any questions that you may have.
Is this an open group? Can I drop in and check it out?
The study requires a high level of commitment and confidentiality. Our hope is that participants will attend every class if possible. It also requires time for reading, reflection and answering questions. This study encourages personal growth! That being said, folks will reap the most benefits if they participate in all aspects! Because of the nature of the group, women sign up and commit for the entire process. We've found that's the only way to really open up and grow with one another.
That makes sense. Sounds like a great opportunity! Thanks for stopping in and telling us more!
On our next blog-episode: Lisa and Jeanne drop in to tell us about Thrive and Thrive @ Nite!
