CNURDTHS? Speaking of license plates...

At the Thrive finale last Thursday, women were challenged to sum up their year of growth in 8 letters or less. EATSALOT and SMGIFTS were among the highlights that summed up women's stages of growth of all kinds!

As I left Thrive last week, I couldn't help noticing the many statements people made with their 8-character plates. RN BSTN. XXXYXX. JSUSSVS. From accomplishments to family dynamics to spiritual life, license plates say a lot!

Jeanne summed up the morning by challenging us each to be THRIVE-Rs this summer. For each of us, this means something different. We are all on this faith journey somewhere. You may be growing by leaps and bounds, or it might seem that for every lesson you learn, you take four steps backward. But Hope is a community that desires to be on this journey together, regardless of your stage in faith.

This summer is an opportunity to step back and survey the work God has done in your life. Have you surrendered to his leading? Have you embraced the joy of your salvation, even in the midst of the struggles of life? The mark of our Chrisian faith is not our good works, our soaring spiritual achievements, or even how well we serve. The mark of our faith is hearts hungry for God, desiring above all else to glorify Him, and living out the joy that only Jesus can bring, even in the midst of our struggles.

This summer, I hope you will be a THRIVE-R. Take Jesus' easy yoke upon you, and allow His growth in you to thrive.

In the next few weeks, we'll be posting information on summer opportunities @ Hope, for both small group study and an informal book club looking at John Ortberg's book, "The Life You've Always Wanted." Check back for details!
