Do any of these sound like you?
I am/have been reluctant to set limits owing to fears such as “there will be war,” “there will be disputes,” or “I’ll lose.”
I have difficulty saying “NO” to others.
I’m confused about where and how to set limits.
I often wonder who I really am.
I am afraid my boundaries won't be respected if I began I to set them.
I tend to take on problems God may have not intended for me.
I often let another person’s destructive behavior work on me.
I have difficulty expressing my wants, thoughts and needs.
I don’t know what I need or want.
I often feel resentment, frustration or anger at the subtle and not so subtle
violations in my life.
I do not feel I have choices in life.
I often melt into the demands and needs of others.
For many of us, we are dismayed to find that these statements do sound familiar. If you are interested in learning a new way to relate to others around you, to love out of freedom instead of guilt, then consider joining the Spring Boundaries Group at Hope, beginning 2/24.
