Still deciding about the women's winter weekend? After a very scientific survey of eight women in the commons area last Sunday, we've come up with our top 8 Myths about women's retreats and uncovered the REAL TRUTH!
MYTH #1:
You have to share your deepest, most secret thoughts with a group of 100+ women
TRUTH:
Are you kidding me?? Only if you volunteer!
MYTH #2
Everyone sits around and prays all day
TRUTH:
That's up to you!
MYTH #3
Everyone is a stay-at-home mom and wants to talk about their kids.
TRUTH:
You should watch out for those stay-at-home moms, as they can be a wild bunch when you get them away for a weekend! However, the truth is we are all women first...and if you have to be "defined" we have every type: single, divorced, working moms, stay-at-home moms, grandmoms....and most of all, every woman wants a chance to just be "woman." That's the real truth!
MYTH #3
It's boring
TRUTH:
WHAT!! Almost everything a woman loves is covered here. Time alone, time with a group. Worship, Teaching, Fellowship. Door prizes, Beauty Secrets, Coffee. Uninterrupted Meals. Shopping, Naps, Exercise...any or all, you choose!
MYTH #4
No one will talk to me
TRUTH:
Only if you don’t shower before you come!
MYTH #5
I don't know anyone
TRUTH:
You won’t be the only one and we have a great group of “friendly” women ready to make you feel welcome. Plus, it's a pretty good place to make a friend!
MYTH #6
It's only for the "spiritual elite"
TRUTH:
You don’t even need to have a personal relationship with God to go… go and see what His plans are for you.
MYTH #7
I'm not “Christian enough”
TRUTH:
Only Jesus was “Christian enough.”
MYTH #8
It costs too much
TRUTH:
If you break it out (don't worry, we did!!) it's the price of one stick of gum per day. Plus, the refreshment has much more staying power than gum. Still struggling with the cost? We have a scholarship fund, so if you need assistance PLEASE let us know.
HURRY! Registration closes January 11. Your only regret will be if you don't come! Questions? Email Laurie at Laurie.Paciocco@McKesson.com or Melissa at mmrobinson2@comcast.net.
