Service Opportunity: Goochland Free Clinic January 24

“A BIG THANKS to all of you who have donated food for the Goochland Free Clinic and Family Services food pantry through our First Sunday Bag It! effort. This food is distributed weekly to an increasing number of families in Goochland Co. who are in need.


But that is just one of their many ministries to Goochland Co. There is also a medical and dental Free Clinic which is open Tuesdays and Thursdays. Recently, the demand for the dental clinic has become so great that they have decided to hold an all-day Free Dental Clinic on Saturday, January 24 from 8am – 5 pm. They are expecting close to 1,000 patients in those 9 hours! With 30+ dental stations it will be a challenge to meet the need of each person, but they are going to try!


Hope Church has offered to help by sending volunteers to register patients, escort patients to the appropriate station, and serve lunch to the 100+ volunteers working that day. We have also offered to help provide some of the food for those lunches. You’re invited to join us for a few hours, or all day, whatever fits your schedule. Or maybe you’d like to just help provide lunch items for the workers. (This is a great opportunity for teens to get those volunteer hours!)
